ENGINEERING SERVICES
Plastic Design Engineering organizes the design and development efforts utilizing a step by step phase structure with set timelines, milestones and budgets to take your idea from initial concept through production. We also execute a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before receiving any confidential information

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:
Product Analysis: Determine product feasibility relative to the clients design
concept and parameters. Providing creative approaches to achieving superior
products.

Concept Review: Preliminary design and engineering ideas are conceived
and recorded with illustrations for review and approval.

Engineering Layout: During this phase, components are evaluated for what
materials will be used. Assembly and the interface of all parts are evaluated
for fit, form and function. Service requirements and user safety are addressed
in detail. Approaches to tooling and fabrication are also narrowed to specific
processes through which preliminary costing can be determined.

Solids Modeling: Files are created in a 3D format for each individual part.
These files are used to create the first prototypes of the new invention. Parts
may be machined from solid material or manufactured using rapid prototyping
techniques such as 3D printing for design verification.

Pre-Production Prototypes: Single or multiple prototype fabrication of the
working product will provide all functional and visual elements necessary to
prove out production drawings. This will also allow for market field testing
prior to releasing the product for production tooling.

Component Detailing: Finalized engineering drawings will be generated
specifying materials, finish, tolerances and hardware requirements. This
includes all files necessary for tooling procurement per the American
Standards of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). These 2D engineering
specifications and 3D models will be used by manufacturing and quality
control to insure all parts are constructed to prints

Tooling/Vendor Liaison: As an extension of our client’s staff, we help in
vendor selection, whether it will be domestic or international. We work with
the chosen molder/toolmaker from the approval of the tool designs through
first article inspections to insure all engineering specifications have been met.
